On Friday, September 25th, students from Mr. Mihalak's Science class participated in a benthic macroinvertebrate sampling to assess watershed health of the East Branch of Conneaut Creek. The Pollution Tolerance Index score, calculated by the students, was 60.9 indicating the local environment is healthy. Mr. Alexander's Math classes researched the physical attributes of the stream by measuring width, depth, velocity and volume of flow to analyze the abiotic factors. Mrs. Nieder's Social Studies classes examined the Lake Erie watershed boundaries and facts associated with this precious resource. Mrs. Gonzales Language Arts classes wrote perspective writing pieces from the point of view of that object. Students and teachers were blessed with a beautiful day at the Albion Boro Park learning about our local community treasures!
